Don’t drink and ride?
Check this video out from the 4 Seasons skatepark in Milwaukee. Pretty sure I heard all of these dudes were real hung over shooting this commercial for Don’t Drink and Ride campaingn. Its being aired all the time on TV which is sweet since the last clip is a camera shot focused on Deco top fork bolt…holla Deco bitches. Watch the video cause there is sweet riding in it to…thanks Wisconsin. I will drink a PBR tonight for ya. Here is the link below. Also don’t forget to hit the Red Bull video below where I got 3rd place in my first ever race. Hit our Tumblr for more funny times and sweet videos…Thanks. Continue reading
Longtime friend Mike Altz decided to throw a photo show with featured artist like Ron Bonner, Ryan Sher, Chipp Riggs, and numerous other local talents in SpaceBar which during the week is called Covert skate shop. Deal was these pics had to be taken by a cell phone and editing done solely in the cell phone. Great turn out, amazing pics, and finally got out of the house to chill with local homies in the Milk district near downtown Orlando. Happened on the Fix gear crew that was at the Red Bull Mini Drome as well. Guess PBR does a pub crawl every month, $1 tall boys at each stop. Who hates that? I have to get on that and I suggest you get on your bike and come out and meet us for the next one. Also, the SpaceBar photo gallery is going to happen 4 times a year. So get on that tip. Thanks to Tommy Mott, Mike Altz, and the crew of photographers to make it all happen. Good times as you can see from the pics below. It starts with the photo gallery, leads into the night, then ends with all my pics I submitted. Chickty check it son… -Chad
My Wife received a Kindle for xmas and has a hard time putting it down. Since then I have read a few books on my version, the iPhone. Pretty amazing everything is on a little phone, pretty much everything except wet wipes. So she tells me that she got me a book on Kindle, which my phone has an app for that, and I read the intro.. why wouldn’t I sit back and put some time into reading this book? Here is what lured me in, not sure who this writer is, and I am not done with the book yet, but I am pretty sure this description would excite anyone. -Chad D Continue reading
Chad DeGroot about Deco
So, I have been on a lil kids bike for nearly 15years now, grew up in the Florida scene, spent my summers and fathers money at Mission [Skate Park]. I have always looked to certain riders in videos. I have also just looked up to people in this industry in general, I have ate, bled and breathed BMX since the mid 90’s. One rider I have always looked up to is Chad [Degroot], he has this mad smooth flat style and a park style I could only dream of selling at a large retail venue by the bucket.
So, over the years a lot of new rider-owned companies have been popping up. some stick, some flop. Some are still infants, some own the industry. Mr. Chad DeGroot took some time from his never ending circle of fun to answer a hand full of questions for me. He is the owner/operator of DECO BMX and a Bike shop (Mr.B’s Bikes N Boards) in the Longwood FL Area. These are the thoughts from his never ending circulation of knowledge. Continue reading
Slacking is not a word I use often but as you can see by these inconsistant posts slacker is more fitting. So here you go, an overload of stuff you want and don’t want to see. Take it, you want this. I have yet to read one of these this year. That is not bragging, I wish a copy would show up like they use to when I ran a skatepark. Then it goes into Red Bull, Photo Gallery, the NEW Deco. line, some flat trick everyone has seen before, then it all ends with a surprise…
The Profile shop tour in the New England states was the best, but cut short since I had to return to reality. Great shops, amazing locals and riders, and a ton of people attended either the shop session or the skatepark sessions. Thanks to everyone including: Matt Coplon, Tony Cardona, Jeff K, Tony Malouf, Mark Mulville, Mike Meister, and Conall Keenan. Thanks to Vic and Circuit BMX, Tonys Bikes, Fat Trax, Daily Grind, Dick Maul’s, and Eastern Border. We really didn’t know which state we were in at any given time, but we showed up on time and road the shit out of everything in our way. Huge Thanks to Tony Malouf, he kept the crew raging day and night and the video will prove it. Sweet chilling with you. -Chad D Continue reading
When asked to Judge Dew Tour, pretty easy answer. Specially if its a city I haven’t been to like the first stop in Ocean City, Maryland. It all started with the shots, if you don’t know now you do. I have traveled with up to 12 lil shots and nothing has happened, except on the plane when we start to get loud and the flight attendants want to know where we got the shots. “Their ours”. Getting into a city at midnight just makes it a game to find the hotel, and get on with the party with friends we haven’t seen in awhile. Doesn’t help that the hotel is on the beach and the boardwalk is the way to the venue. Sweeeeet. So at this stop Daryl Nau who owns Blacken clothing was the new MC. Every morning we both me at the piano to sip on coffee and talk it out. Every morning we seemed to meet at the same time…pretty wild but its pretty funny to see him in his set up, great way to wake up and laugh. The laughter didn’t end there, with the boardwalk being packed non stop all day you could people watch and spot sweet tattoos daily. When there was the rain delays we pretty much just fucked around with Segway’s, chilled talking shit, or relaxing at the Guido’s Burritos.
Some other highlights were: Danile Dheres teeth in the blacklight bar, VIP for Kid Cudi, hang 5’s in the sand, standing tall with Mirra fight stance, pic with kinked Steve Caballero, Big daddy story time, leather skin on the beach, bikinis galore, Hail Mary runs in the park competition (holy shit it was nuts), rocking chairs outside the hotel, Brumlow show, and the love of the boardwalk care of Freimuth…
Below is a BLURB of the event, then the pics, then some on location video for central florida’s Crash in WJRR and his site www.knucklenap.com. Check em all out and enjoy, had a great time, and more to come… -Chad D

Mat Olson had the privilege of teaching at Woodward camp this year. It was only for a short period but if you know Mat you know he lived it up, learned a ton of new tricks, and made the trip the best it could be. Here is a play by play on his trip out and then back to Denver. Continue reading
