Interbike usually is a blur from no sleep, tons of alcohol, and just plain on-the-go format. This year I decided to show up late and leave early which proved to be the way to go. Rumors were flying about this year being really small and a lot of companies backing out. Truthfully it was still pretty big but YES a few big boys were not in attendance. Otherwise it was amazing, non stop laughing, drinking, and a little bit of bmx made it one of the best so far. -Chad D
Here are a few pics and some videos from Interbike 2011
Deco. BMX and Profile Racing would like to announce the new US Distribution of Deco. products through Profile headquarters in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Below are a few questions between Chad DeGroot (owner of Deco. BMX) and Matt Coplon (TM and head sales) about the Distribution situation.
Profile has been making some moves the last few years, now with Deco. being distributed by Profile Racing, how do you feel about this?
It’s been ten years now since I came on board to manage Profile Distribution. We have never been in a position where we seek out product to distribute—we actually started the distro here b/c most of our Domestic and International distributors cannot stock all the variations (odds and ends) of the bike products that we manufacture. Through those years, we’ve picked up a very limited number of brands (Country Bikes and Sun Rims) to compliment what we carry here in the shop. For the most part, those brands are close to us on a personal level…picking up Deco falls into the same category. DeGroot has been riding for Profile now for four years…it’s been a strong relationship and anything that Chad does we would like to be in a position to help support him. He’s family, and Deco is quality Product that we both ride and feel confident in pushing.
You mentioned offering some completes, Profile parts and Deco. rounding it off, this leads into some real high end bikes. Is this more for promo or will these be for sale?
Like we currently offer with Country/Profile, we plan on doing the same with Deco through our Online store. Basically, a higher end Profile complete featuring a Deco frame, fork, bars, grips, and pedals.
There are two very different companies uniting to scratch each others backs, is this a Florida thing?
Less Florida, more family! You’re still a yankee until you reach that 20 year residency mark…that’s coming up, right?

Who doesn’t take pics with their phones? Idiots? Probably…
Well this is pretty sweet, I submitted 15 pics of myself nude and they are going to show them off one night only. So if you want to see it, check it. Actually there are more than a few names you would notice showing off their shit, like Ron Bonner, Ryan Sher, and Chipp Riggs. If your in this area or rich as hell get a plane tic and stop by August 27th. We will be there with our beer exhaust faces rummaging around acting cool.
Next, we have the Red Bull Mini Drome. This is going to be nuts as it gets. They asked me to compete, but I think just taking a few hot laps around while drinking a beer and in a thong would be more appropriate. If you want to check the video hit it up HERE. When you mess up you fall off the edge of the world. Soo good… Continue reading
David Leep hit up Chad DeGroot about his beard and beard activity. This is no amateur mustache with wings, this thing flies on its own.
Things you have found, or currently have in your beard:
I have found hair, gray hair, cat hair, pizza sass, ketchup, crackers scraps, blood, boogers, ear wax, saliva, beer, someone else’s beard, grass, water, soap, Powerbars, metal shards, ink, dirt, paint, primer, paper, staples, memory stick, some gravel, a comb, and a flat screen TV (52?).
Ever had a really good ass cup of coffee? Chad has. Every day. Drinks it like water. To celebrate, why not make some components that resemble a fresh cup of joe with just the right amount of cream and sugar?
Here is Degroot’s new coffee color way available now!
-Classic Profile mini hubs in RHD only.
-Acoustic stems in 48mm.
-Spline drive sprockets in 25t.

Don’t forget to check out the new pics we just posted HERE
Had a little mishap the other day resulted in a contusion to my thumb. That shit won’t hold me down. Rode last night on my new ride. Pretty much the best bike I have ever ridden. Trying to get a name for my Profile color way. I am tossed up between two names…will post my bike pics real soon and you can help me give a name for my color. Till then, its ice and ice cold beer for my dumb thumb.
Every once in awhile both James and me will be away from the shop. This one Sunday Greg worked for us at the shop and we got a session in…it was about 100 degrees out and the poop plant had a breeze that gave us a buzz. If you ride this park, make sure if the wind is right, you enjoy the fumes from someone elses ass. James knocked out an ice fakie and ends it with the dubs to 180. Chad threw in some work and still does slidaz… Continue reading
